Beautiful faces behind the mask

This Poem is a thought out of the current crisis  in Afganistan and Emphasizing the Women’s democratic rights being faded away.  Of course there are many women in every Country almost, who are struggling just wearing a mask of faded smile and living in silence as their voices  been muted by discriminated laws with forced cultures and weird customs by the society, families or dominant men for many reasons. These are my own feelings and opinions based on the observations or experiences and not to hurt or disrespect any of the basic and common culture of being a man, woman or religion/religious. Thank you  for reading. Your Beautiful thoughts would be my cherished memories and learnings.

I had a positive post ready to publish about women tittle  “story of a woman” and it starts as woman’s story is constantly changing and so on… now I am stuck with these crisis and thinking how to add or end that story watching women struggling somewhere in the world and where’s the woman’s story is changing??? And which way it’s going…

Dear God!

Million thoughts in mind
Swirling like a speed wind
With this unknown life's end
One question if dont Mind
If you are looking around

Why is a girl put on earth?
To be a productive machine?
Once grown as a lovely woman
To be a slave for someone??
Is she a property to be own?

Dear God!

Are you looking around??
Can you hear her cry??
Can you listen her prayer?
Million questions in mind
With muted voice of silence
Collide by the cruel aronist
Isn't she a power of your creation? Gifted life of she

Crashing down to earth
Forgetting to breath
With oceanic tears in eyes
Broken heart of feelings
In lose of lucid powers
Being pushed into an abyss

Dear God!

By your gracious blessings
Let her will, be your power
And Taliban's greatest fear
Heal her soul with justice
Her each breath has a faith
Her beautiful heart beneath
That you save her with care

With prayers 🙏

    1. That’s right Joanna, prayers should become powers n strength to become a change which one wanted to bring either as an individual or the Country. Thank you for putting your valuable thoughts ❤🙏

  1. behind the facade of manhood,
    abandoned rainbows wilt,
few drops drowned no respect to be found,
yet man he makes no sound
man’s search for self perfection, infection of our kind hearted kinship,
    is tossed and strewn around,
no man, no man dare to break this code, no man is shouting out loud,
lost, as ever, trying to prove, to be proud, in this hand me down false pride,
do men of many countries continue to be silent, continue to run from themselves and family, continue to hide,
such men are in the herd and never ever really heard,
their life’s efforts dull, deplete, absurd
from time in memorial in others deaths does man wait,
as if it’s God’s calling for him to hurt and hate,
yet all along he does know the love of being at his sisters side,
it is now like never before that men and man must decide,
these wars are not of his making,
    no fire did he start,
for those who beckon him to take up arms,
    are nursing broken hearts,
knawing at him from deep inside,
his place is not yet found,
confusing kinship love, with another’s fight for land, the dollar and minerals in the ground,
take heed from life’s long journey,
    in turmoil this will end,
and man and men shall be no more,
    no loving laughter in childhood,
    nothing like we knew afore,
yet heaven on earth does triumph from within the women’s world,
and man and men will wonder what does it really take,
to stand up against this tyranny and learn from past mistakes.

    1. Exactly, we have many examples around us but can’t do anything until those who struggle take an initiative to become a change they wanted. Hope to see them fighting back to get their rights but not easy too. Thank you for putting your sweet thoughts Akriti.

  2. Beautiful expression of emotions as always Suma. Women the world over suffer for some reason or the other. In any crisis it is the women who suffer the most. The Taliban are known suppressors of women freedom and they have spelt their il intentions this time too.
They have to fight their own long drawn battle for liberation. Some have already shown the courage of hitting the street in protest . Pray us what we can hoping better sense prevails. Freedom of thoughts is what is needed most.
    Stay blessed Suma.

    1. Thank you for your powerful n kind words dear Krish. Yes women are being used with ill intensions n it’s historically proven. Yes people are protesting n trying their best ways but they definitely need assistance from the world. We can only put our thoughts n prayers as a community n may be part of their protest sharing our feelings. Always thanks for valuable inputs n blessings 🙏🙏🙏

  6. It is so sad to watch. Women’s fate is in peril. It’s unbelievable that Taliban could rise from the ashes and come back to life to repress millions of women again. Actually many women are little slaves in their own family from the day they could walk. I had two friends from primary school who cooked every day for their family.

  7. Dear friend, Afghanistan crisis is very dire. Everyone has their role to play, it’s Afghanistan today, maybe some other place tomorrow. We all have so many questions now . Every normal man wants peace and sancity . If we say ppl have reasons to do all this, then I guess that will be foolishness . Why is it so difficult to understand that this war, this taking off rights won’t bring any good. Maybe for big, powerful ppl it’s profit but little do they know if it continues then maybe it would be there turn next. Are we so lost in this materialistic world? Lord, religion were meant for unity but this now is just opposite. We fight for an idea , idea of something which is likely or unlikely to be unexistable. I wonder, what we’ve done to this beautiful planet . From the time when there were no borders to the time where we fight for borders, from the time we made weapons to protect ourselves and out closed ones to the time we make weapons to killed our close ones, from the time, when we used land to fulfill our hunger to the time we use land to fulfill our greed.
In all this situation, all we do is that we find someone to blame one person and criticize them but often we forget this war is not of today, this is the war that we’ve been fighting since long . Why this superiority and inferiority? To all this question, I get one answer, everything starts from one individual. Its true. It does start . For a temporary time it’s easy to find solution, but this scar, how will this be removed? No one to blame but now I guess everyone is to be held responsible. No one to gain but I guess every individual will suffer.
Ive one more confession to make. This pen, this words has a lot of power. It can even control the sword. A little we can do for now is to make ppl think about the peaceful side. At last its always right who wins . Maybe too late but it never loses even after defeat.
    So powerful words.

    1. Thank you much for these king words and taking time to write your profound thoughts here dear Anchal. Truly said, people want peace but again people are those who create nonsense. Of course every one’s even rich’s turn too will come one day money cannot make miracles every time. Yes people are mostly lost in materialistic than living in peace. I am so glad yo read your beautiful reflections dear. Everyone must held accountability but the world is just Watching. There’s no unity for peace only ames of polluted politics everywhere. With such cruel acts one must not get any benefits in future definitely they may struggle in reverse. Once again thank you for all your weapon of words too sweetest. You are too kind n sound and profound writer. Loves to you ❤

  9. I can feel the anguish in this poem. Thank you for such a heart-touching piece. While girls are breaking through glass ceilings across the world, it’s pathetic to see the plight of girls and atrocities on them in our neighborhood. Let’s pray for them. The more pathetic aspect is that the world community has left them in lurch; Nobel laureates and environmentalists, who can raise their voices in support of farmer’s agitation in India, are keeping mum. Hypocrisy is at its best.

  10. Your poem is poignant and pays justice to the women at mercy of Talibans hell-bent on destroying everything. The heart bleeds reading every word fleshed out and truth is those people are scared of progress made by girls. I pray that the country and its women get their freedom.

  11. Lovely writing! I am concerned about the women of Afghanistan.

On your line that the Taliban should fear women – I would like rather, that they, (and all other religious groups that treat women as less than men) see that progress for women is progress for all.

A society that has less value for the ‘mother’ and her right to education, work, to vitamin D and to feel the sun on her face and skin as men do lose kindness and values that moderate violence.

There needs to be less hierarchy and more caring within the family and this can exist, and should. It is even possible within a fair level of boundaries that religious customs have if they are interpreted with an understanding of the rights any living being has, or should have.

This is my wish for Afghanistan, and it comes from my journey out of patriarchy within the boundaries my family has, and my knowledge of the journey many women like me have made to happiness.

Thanks for writing on this important topic.

We know ‘what solution is?’ ..
But we can’t do anything 😟
I don’t know how many times have I cried, just by thinking about the atrocities women in Afghanistan are going through..
Suma your poem conves the same emotions…✨🙏💕
