In your thoughts, I lost my sleep.
Within my restless mind, Emotions weep.
Awakened senses, seek what's true,
Within my eyes, they search for you.

Where? Where can I find you?
In the depths of dark night?
In the stars above the night sky?
In the Moon among the passing clouds?
Where? Where can I find you?

How? How can I reach you?
Through the cold breez that pass through the window?
Through the fragrance of morning flowers that beautifully bloom?
Through the drizzling drops that fall from above? Or
Through the horizon of rainbow colours?
How? How can I reach you?

When? When will we meet?
May be in this birth distance be forever?
We may not cross the oceans of longing, just to be near.
In the calendar's turn, a date may not be find,
For our love may not transcend miles to be bound.
But our hearts became one, in a love so divine.

Oh! This sleep eludes me in your embrace,
Yet, I willingly surrender to this chase.
For in this longing, a love so rare,
I find solace, knowing you are always there but I find nowhere.

  1. This heartrending poetry expresses a strong longing for a love that seems to be just beyond one’s grasp. The night sky, the stars, and even the elements of nature all play a part in the hunt for the beloved. Beautifully describes how to get over the physical gap between them and looks forward to when they will finally meet. In spite of the fact that they are physically apart, they may take comfort in the eternal and heavenly link that binds their hearts together. As the presence of the beloved is felt even in absence, the willingness to accept the trade-off of lost sleep turns into a sacrifice that is gladly accepted. Awesome write-up, Suma.
    Suma, the way you communicate your feelings for others through poetry is absolutely great. Each word is intricately woven with a complex tapestry of feelings, which together create a striking picture of longing and devotion. A feeling of oneness with the cosmos is evoked whenever it is described that one is looking for love among the components of nature and in the night sky. The tale is given greater depth and emotional impact by the characters’ desires to close the gap that separates them and their hope for the future. Your poetry does a wonderful job of capturing the essence of a love that goes beyond the limitations of space and time, finding comfort in the unbreakable bond between hearts. To be able to elicit such powerful feelings in the audience is a remarkable testimonial to the strength of your writing. Suma, I am extremely impressed with the skill with which you are able to communicate the complexities of love via poetry.
